In the Andean tradition, the Misa is a ceremonial altar used to connect with Pachamama (Mother Earth), the Apus (sacred mountain spirits), and the living forces of nature, maintaining harmony and sacred reciprocity between yourself, humanity, the Earth, and the cosmos.
The Misa is composed of three sacred textiles and a cord: Lliqlla, Uquña, Chacana, and Huatana.
Lliqlla Q’ero — Universe
Represents the universe and harmonizes your connection with your personal cosmos, allowing you to become a conscious bearer of your spiritual universe.
Uquña — Duality
Symbolizes the balance of feminine and masculine energies. It is used for oracle readings, such as the coca leaf oracle, and for offerings to Pachamama, the Apus, and sacred beings.
Chacana — Heart of the Cosmos
